“Start Dancing” delivers the rough and powerful energy of Berlin – the city the Eastern European all-around artist chose as her new home through an energetic dance track which combines musical styles that shouldn’t work together but instead make the song unique and powerful – while still being POP in the best sense.
With this song, she succeeds in creating an explosive mix of electro, neo R’n’B, and a rich Pop-sound. The finishing touch was applied by producer Leo Abrahams (Jon Hopkins, Wild Beasts, Goldfrapp, Brian Eno).
It takes literal seconds until you can’t help yourself but follow the call of the song. Build on a strong bass sequencer that you can feel physically in your bones the song never loses its power. “Start Dancing” is lavish and minimalistic at the same time. The energy – driven by synthetic strings that increase their impact throughout the song – never eases up or lets one breath. This is not a song that asks meekly for your attention. It demands your attention and takes it without mercy. MIN t’s multi-layered vocals are the sugar on top of a powerful statement of a song. She writes and produces her music exclusively by herself by choice. She doesn’t want her vision to be watered down by too many voices or opinions. Her music is the most important expression she has and she will defend that vision vigorously. Nothing in her music and expression is left to chance. There is no question that her musical journey is long from over.
Like most of the song’s lyrics, the lines to “Start Dancing” were written by MIN t’s sister Patrycja Kubicz. Since childhood, the two siblings had a deep understanding and connection of each other’s thinking, feelings and ways to express themselves.
